You felt yourself physically respond every time I moved even just a little. You had to put your book in your lap, so no one would notice. You couldn’t stop thinking about how soft I looked… what it would be like to touch me… But before you could come up with a reason to say ‘hello’, I started to get up. Pack my things into a little bag and put my robe back on. I stood and started to walk away, back into my little villa, forgetting my hat on the ground. You lept up, without saying anything to your friends, and rushed over to where I had been sitting, picked up my hat and wondered what to do. Your first impulse was to bring it to me, but you didn’t want to show up at my villa and alarm me. But then again… what a perfect, natural way to introduce yourself. You momentarily thought maybe you should just leave it with the front desk, with your number. You stood there, the sun warming up your shoulders and arms, deciding…. So… what did you do?
