im making this long post to vent about my move, you can read it or not.. it’s mostly for me because honestly i need to cleanse the stress from my body😭 anyone who’s been with me a while has seen a little bit of what i’ve gone through living here. when i moved in, i paid first months rent, last months rent and a deposit. so i thought. the deposit was actually 2 months rent. so on the first of this month, i had to pay rent thinking it was already covered. meaning, i have to pay rent at two places that i wasn’t expecting to do. when i moved in i had to pay $500 to use the elevator as a ‘deposit’ just in case there was damage. i had to get some cashiers check. i tried to cash the check back out at the smiths that i got it from when they returned it to me, and they couldn’t. it was my fault i didn’t go to my bank to try to get the money back, so i’m still unsure if i can cash this check out and get my money back. but the issue is, i have to give them another $500 deposit to use the elevator again. i need to see if they’ll keep the original check as a deposit or if i need to get another one and then i have 1k floating in limbo, making it hard to even get my money back or at all. i have to have active power, and renters insurance at both places. which i’ve never had to do in that moving grace period, usually it just cycles over onto next pay period or whatever. but no, i have to figure out how to cover both places for a weird amount of time and everything is closed today because it’s a holiday. i can’t call the bank, renter insurance, or nv energy. the new place has the worst phone system i’ve ever seen, it’s never consistent and half the time it doesn’t even connect. 1/5 times i can reach the voicemail. emailing back and forth takes over 24 hours or no response. i have to schedule a uhaul still. i can’t pay for a moving company this time cause i didn’t budget for it since i had to pay rent here. im required to pay for a professional maid service and give my landlord the invoice. i’ve gotten like 10 quotes now and they’re all around $275 because it’s a one time service and not consistent scheduled cleaning. $300 for a place that’s 800 sqft ? everything is insane. i have to call and do everything 3x to get it done correctly and im just exhausted. my brain is so tired, this is so much stress on one person. i’ve never had to jump through so many hoops. and then just how living here was nothing that i expected, all the weird required maintenance and outside hired on people constantly in my home. i woke up to 3 men in front of my bed while i was sleeping, without them knocking, because the front desk let them in to work on my unit assuming i wasn’t home. i know this because the next morning they rang my doorbell once and already started unlocking my door by the time i walked to it. i had to remove and recaulk my entire bathroom or i was breaking the terms of my lease. there’s so many ass backwards things i’ve dealt with that i’ve never had gone through renting in all these years. im just really really tired. i have about 6 days to figure all of this out and two of the days are a weekend :-)
