Despite these challenges I feel like the light was captured very nicely and I like the silhouettes of the cherry blossoms!

These photos were taken in April 2020 and this was a period of time where I was learning more about the angle of the sun, the time of day and how that impacts photos. These were taken at high noon on the SW side of the house. The light was very bright and difficult to work with to avoid massive shadows so I had to very carefully raise my chin up (to avoid dark shadows under the eye) but keep my eyes low, and sultry so I wasn’t blinded by the sun!

Don’t you just love cherry blossoms! At my last place I had a glorious cherry blossom tree and I couldn’t resist taking some pictures with it!

Did I tell you I broke my toe in January? It was so sad and I couldn’t wear any fun shoes!! I am finally feeling better so I celebrating by putting these fun nude pumps on :)

I am still angling to recreate these photos with better conditions and better lighting but I still haven’t figured out what I want to do. In the years since I planted lots of poppies in my yard so hopefully someday I have my own private field and I can explore without cars rushing by!

My roommate helped me as these photos needed to be taken from a very high angle and very quickly! The road this was near was very busy, even with reduced traffic due to lockdown. We shot at high noon, which in retrospect maybe wasn’t the best idea as it was terribly bright and I found it difficult to pose & use my face as the sun was painful! The grass was surprisingly uncomfortable too! I did the best I could and I think the pictures came out pretty good.

I always had plans to lay down in the grass and get a picture and in March 2020 I did! This was 5 days into lockdown and it felt incredibly subversive and naughty to put on my silly down jacket over my lingerie, cross the street, remove my jacket and lay down in the grass.

Another Spring throwback! If you live in Oakland you know that one of the best places to spot poppies within the city is in the medians of the road. A median near my old place had a glorious display and the city typically mowed it down end of March as it supposedly obstructed the view on the road. It was terribly sad as the poppies are lovely, but at least they popped back up every year.

I just installed 6 new jasmine plants on my front porch, I hope someday I can recreate this look with jasmine from my garden!

This shoot is from march 2019! The house I was living at had gorgeous mature jasmine plants. There were approximately a dozen growing up the back deck, it smelled so incredible and made for good photo props :)

I have a big back catalogue and my biggest category is “spring” photoshoots! I have done 3-7 every year since 2019 so I have heaps that have never been online! I still need to do at least one this year so stay tuned for that.
